For those who read and track physical books in Calibre, here's an Action Chain that can set a #percentread column based on the current page number. It's useful alongside Reading Goal.

What happens if there's books in the goal without a page-count?

A few days ago I accidentally added a few books to the reading goal before adding their page-counts, but I didn't notice any odd effects (and the page counts appeared in the goal after populating the column).

Nothing will happen untill you reach 100%. When you finish the book, the plugin will alert you about it. Then you would need to fill the page count.

Due to user error, one of the books in my #rggenres ended up with a tag of "eBooks." (instead of the intended eBooks.Fiction)

It appeared in the Statistics, but then when I tried to track it down in Edit Goal it didn't appear:

I had to dig into the json file to identify the book it was and fix it.

This made me think - would it be much difficult to implement a 'mark books' for the Statistics window? Aside from this corner-case glitch, it would also be interesting to see all the books read in a specific month.

I'll see what I can do about this. It should appear in the Edit Goal dialog. That's probably because the plugin is looking for something after the dot.

Not very easy. The bars can't be selected right now. But I'll take a look.

- New feature: Auto backup: now you can set up automatic backups for your database, so in case anything goes wrong, you can use the last working backup

Works as expected! This'll be helpful.

What triggers the backup? Any RG action, or opening specific dialogs?

Suggestion: Since 'Edit Reading Goal' can become inaccessible due to errors, perhaps also add 'restore backup' button to the configuration dialog.

Any RG action, except for opening the config dialog.
