it has the vines on top and bottom. 2 columns "left" pages have a sort of table of contents on the left "right" pages have a sort of table of contents on the right I'm trying to convert it into a document that: doesn't include any large pictures like the one included on one of the sample pages converts both columns into one column I can read left to right. removes the vines removes the TOC on the left and right pages. the end goal is a book I can read much easier from a tablet or from a text to speech program. currently, text to speech programs read the left column first, then the right column of the next page, then the left column of that page, and so on, and it makes it very hard to understand what's going on when reading it in a sort of backwards order. when you look at the sample you'll understand how much of a nightmare this document is. For this specific case with so many graphics in the margins, particularly if the columns are very consistent throught the document, I recommend using a couple of fixed crop boxes around the columns. See the screen shot from the GUI (the GUI has a nice selection tool to quickly create the crop boxes--I added a screenshot of that where it overlays the pages together so you can see how your cropping selection fits over multiple pages).
The command line is: k2pdfopt -mode 2col -c -cbox- -ibox- -cbox 0.9242in,0.9942in,3.291in,8.892in -cbox 4.229in,1.05in,3.333in,8.71in 2pagesample.pdf Last edited by willus; 06-15-2022 at 09:53 PM. |

One page is ok, the next not
I convert a book. The first page is ok. But the second is smaller. The same happens after a number of pages. One is ok, but the following are smaller. I submit 2 pages to see the difference. Any idea?

Can you post (1) a small sample of the book (or PM it to me), and (2) the options you used or a screen shot of the conversion screen?

1. Use the fit-width mode, where k2pdfopt will fit to the width of the device. This will break source pages up into multiple output pages if that is okay with you: k2pdfopt -dev kbhd -mode fw -ls- -cbox .14,.22,5.29,7.81 -om .2 (the -ls- will keep the output in portrait mode.) 2. Use the crop mode with a tighter box around your page text. This will not trim the crop box so that all source pages will translate to a single output page of the same size: k2pdfopt -dev kbhd -mode crop -cbox 0.64in,0.98in,4.20in,6.09in -om .2 |

Thanks willus! Your help was important and so now I can make, not only this, but all pdfs display correctly and can be read comfortably in the reader.
Thank you for your time and help! |

Kindle 10th gen
Hello,
I spent hours to check the real height and width for Kindle 10th generation (800×600 167dpi display), with Kindle 5.14 firmware. It is 570px wide and a height of 754px So the command is Code:
k2pdfopt -dpi 167 -w 570 -h 754 $INPUTFILE -o $OUTPUTFILE Thanks |

Hi
There seems to be a problem with k2pdfopt 2.53 on termux(Linux on ARM smartphone). The Termux dev says it is an upstream issue Basically I cant have a full pdf converted (default setup no additional commands), only the first few page are converted. As an example the app only converts the first 10 pages (out of 28) of the following pdf https://michaelberryphysics.files.wo...7/berry337.pdf Reddit link : https://www.reddit.com/r/termux/comm..._k2pdfopt_253/ |

Where did you get the build from? What does the header say when you run it?
E.g. k2pdfopt v2.53 (w/MuPDF,DjVuLibre,OCR) (c) 2020, GPLv3, http://willus.com Compiled Jul 18 2020 with Gnu C (Mingw64) v9.3.1 for Win64 on x64. |

Does the Linux Aarch64 download not work for you? The download you are running isn't compiled with MuPDF or any OCR capability. Hard to say why it may be failing after only a few pages. User pumpapa posted about a similar issue before.
