I have that issue if the device is not waterproof (PW3 or phone), but haven't had the issue with the waterproof devices.

My cats' hair getting on the screen is sometimes enough to make the touchscreens go a little nuts until I turn it off, wipe it off, and then turn it back on.

I've taken my Kindle to the bath with me several times, but never managed to drop it. I've always just put it in a ziploc bag before going in just in case.

Why do we have the 4th answer that screws with the statistics? Can the poll be edited to delete it?

As for the math? Sheesh, 16.67% of the people who read in the bath have dropped their erreader at least once. 10% have dropped it more than once (a triumph of optimism over experience?). For any number geeks, 68.42% of the respondents do not read in the bath. Of the remaining 31.58% who do read in the bath, 26.32% have never dropped their ereader, 5.26% have dropped their ereader at least once. I did the math off the top of my head but I'll stand by my neurons though I did truncate the repeating 6 in the first number. This used the 2/3/25/65 for a total of 95 responses. |

What is embarrassing is while engrossed in a really good book you finally notice that your ass has gone to sleep.

It's just easier (IMHO) to have a shower and then go read in your favorite place (not the tub).

If I had a tub I would read while taking a bath with my Kobo Aura One (the only waterproof ereader I have). I wouldn't read with the other two ereader I own.

Sometimes a good long, hot soak is really what my body needs. During those few times a year it's really nice to read too. I just put my Voyage in a ziplock and don't worry about it and haven't dropped it. (I still think waterproofing the Voyage would have been a no brainer.) |
