Upgrading Kindle... want Collections... which one?

Hi all,

I have the first gen Fire and for those that remember, there was no Collections app to organize books. The Kindle Fire dept. website tried to build one but it wasn't the best.

My question is: with the newest Kindle Fires, do any of them have a built in Collections app? Something that will gather all the books by the same author and put them within one folder?

I love having all my books on my Kindle but it takes me awhile to find something when I have to scroll up through hundreds of books. I'd like to have a shorter page that collects all the King, or Child, or Coben books, etc. into one folder so that if I want to read one of those, I just go into the folder and I have just their books within that folder.

Which is my best option to upgrade to if any?

The Kindle Fire has collections just like the eInk Kindles do. You however have to make the collections yourselves but the cloud library is still as cumbersome to go through as it was with the KFv1.

The fastest way to find things is to use Search. Voice search works pretty well. I use collections only to track 'status' ('to read', 'current reading', 'read' etc.) and it works well for that.

Apart from using Collections, you can organize with Goodreads folders. This has the advantage of including paper books if you still read those.
