Non-Fiction
I am looking for recommendations on Vlad the Impaler and The Bloody Countess (Erzsebet Bathory). This is not related to Halloween. Just two topics on my non-fiction TBR list.
I would prefer if the books were not self-publishes. Sorry most self-published I have tried to read were horrible and information quickly pulled from Wikipedia or articles found during a Google search. |

Thanks Catlady but I did read that one. After reading it (finished a week or so ago). I wanted to know if there were any others out there. Having a hard time finding info about these two subjects. |

That's the only author I can remember, unfortunately. I used to have maybe a half dozen or so such books, but they got purged from my bookshelves.

You might have more luck looking at True Crime books or books on serial killers. I've read a number of those that have a chapter on Erzebet Bathory. True Crimes - Serial Killers Vol 1 might be worth reading if you are interested in that sort of thing.
Vlad III, aka Vlad the impaler aka Dracula (his father was Vlad Dracul (Dracul means dragon) and Dracula means son of the dragon), was a different kettle of fish all together. He was ruler of Wallachia back in the 1400's and fought against the Ottoman empire. So the real question with this is are you interested in an actual biography of Vlad III and his times, are you more interested in one of the Vlad the Impaler, the real Dracula, books to focuses on his cruelties? |

I will look for the True Crimes - Serial Killers. The book will probably end up adding to my non-fiction TBR pile but that is a good thing. I actually would like both on Vlad. Infomation on him and his time and his cruelties. If it end up being 2 different books that is fine. |

I finished Prince of Many Faces a week or so ago. After I finished I wanted more to read about Vlad. |

He's written several books on Vlad III, it seems to be his area of specialization. You might want to check out the footnotes in the wiki article on Vlad III and see what books are used as references. Just keep in mind that not all books are ebooks, especially when you start to dig into slightly obscure topics. Most of what I've read about him tends to be a couple of brief paragraphs in a larger work on the fight between the Ottoman Empire and the West. I doubt these books would be of interest to you.
