@#$%^&*()

About the best I can say for now. When I opened 1.01 in ADE 2.0 running under Win7 x64, I got most of the way through the ebook and then crash time. CoolReader works but last couple of images don't display. Time to open the file in Sigil and see what happens. Hmmm... Sigil 7.2 update is available. Downloaded and installed. Ooops... Sigil opens but nothing shows on screen. Quick visit back to download page and Sigil 7.2 for Windows download has disappeared. Guess I don't need to complain -- they already know.

Try it on the Mac. Older version of ADE works okay.

Time to go out and enjoy a Sunday brunch.

Edit: just dropped by the Sigil forum and 7.2 Windows and Linux has been pulled. DLL packaging issues.

Regards,
David

Hmm, I wonder why it crashed?

I have added some svg images, both within <img> tags and in-line.

I saw some problems with those, in fact one (an svg test card) gave
so many errors in Flight Crew and looked so bad on the Mini that I
took it out again, so I'm thinking svg support is a little strained at best.

Sorry to hear about Sigil, I'm using 0.96, which I built from the sources, so
I won't be upgrading for a while.

I don't use ADE, I check appearance in Sigil, Calibre's e-book viewer
and on the Mini. That already gives me plenty to deal with

You NEED to test ePub with ADE as that's what most Readers use.

I use ADE for testing ePubs due to it's very similar behaviour to the Reader Mobile code used by Kobo (and quite a few other ereaders) to render ePubs.

I've found the CoolReader, Calibre's reader or Sigil's book view will often display books that cause issues for my Kobos or ADE. Of course, just to make things more fun, some books have displayed properly in ADE and on a Kobo but Sigil has not been happy with them.

David

Ok, added a bit more stuff on dropcaps and smallcaps (including embedded fonts), as well as fixing a few typos.

I think I'll call it a day there.

Once I've considered all the feedback, I will donate the book to the library

Thanks for the effort. I stumbled on a typo, seemed only fair to report it here:

Quote:
The long s was used on manuscripts from Roman times up until the end of the eighteenth century almost always for a lwoercase non-terminal letter s. Older texts often use these 'effs for esses':
I skimmed through the text but didn't notice any others.

Last version. Added a CSS grey scale table and fixed some typos.

Thanks to all those that helped out with this.

I will add it to the library, so any further feedback can go there.
