Fewer lines of text per page on new kindles?
Okay, the Kindle 3 on font size 3 setting (the default) displays 26 lines per page.
From this screenshot, it seems the new kindle displays 3 fewer lines per page on the same font size setting. Since the panel is still the same 6", it probably means that they've recalibrated their font sizes to larger ones on the same corresponding settings. Which means fewer lines per page for those of us who read on the smallest font size setting to cram in as many lines as possible in a page. Obviously it doesn't affect those that read on the larger font sizes. |

Don't forget that publishers can set a default font size in their eBooks. Though it is better not to do that IMO, if they do then the font sizes can vary from eBooks where no size was set. The only way to know for sure if the new Kindles render font sizes different from the older models is to load the exact same book on each model and then compare them. Trying to judge this from a photo of a displayed book when you know nothing about that book's formatting is pointless. For all we know it could be a TOPAZ book or a sideloaded mobi that was modified in calibre.
