Calibre error communicating with Pocketbook Touch HD3 (632)

Calibre recognizes "Pocketbook Touch HD3" (632) as "Inkpad 3" (740).

I'm running calibre version 3.40.1
Upon right clicking on any book listing it reports an error:

  File "calibre_plugins.annotations.action", line 104, in about_to_show_menu
  File "calibre_plugins.annotations.action", line 1129, in rebuild_menus
AttributeError: 'POCKETBOOK740' object has no attribute 'gui_name'

After I close the error the menu shows up normally and I'm able to copy books to device.

A few questions:

Is there a special driver for the hd3 or should the inkpad 3 driver work?
Has anyone had similar issues? If this is just a missing attribute, it should be trivial to fix it in the plugin I guess

That's an error in the third party annotations plugin, report it there. Or disable/uninstall the plugin and you will be fine.

The plugin doesn't even use it. It tries to get the gui_name into a variable, but never actually uses that variable.

I really hope that wasn't one of the changes I've made.

@read-more-books: I have an update to the plugin that I've been to lazy to release. I'll try and get it out this week. In the meantime, you will need to disable or uninstall the Annotations plugin. Removing it from the toolbar might also work and can be done without restarting calibre if you are swapping between the devices a lot.

@Kovid: Shouldn't all devices have a gui_name?

In theory they should, but calibre basically fallsback to using the name when gui_nmae is absent.
