Suggested enhancement: opt. easy-to-read colors for "View"

Suggested Calibre Enhancement:

The ability to set text and background colors for Calibre's "View" function, so that it's less tiring than reading the default black text on white background.

Or maybe even just one alternative pair of colors --I think someone here in mobileread changed their PDA's background to a rose color and text to white, which that person found easy on their eyes.

Not sure how prevalent the audience for this would be. It would offer an advantage over Amazon's Kindle for PC. Especially with increased availability of small form factor PCs that can rotate to portrait orientation. Note that landscape-only PCs will have some "bleeding" of the Windows Desktop color on the sides of the View window--those users might want to change their Windows Desktop background color to some pleasing color.

Can't you just change the user CSS with something like:

Code:
body { color: #444; background-color: #BBB; }
P.S. Some users of Calibre don't use Windows

Thanks much. This is perfect! I didn't realize there was this capability (ain't Calibre great? Great instincts, Kovid, to think of making every little thing so open). I've since found the CSS sticky post in this Calibre forum, which tells me I can make permanent changes within the View window Preferences (I had originally only found some place to alter CSS under "Conversion").

P.S. I actually started to write the post inclusively for Win, Mac, and Linux, but gave up on my searches for "Kindle for Mac" and "Kindle for Linux," and hoped I'd get the slack non-North Americans give the U.S. posters for their U.S.-centric posts.
