just a thing

well just to let you know that if you turn off the reader with init 0, you will have a 0 drain of the battery..
I just turned on mine after about two months of not using it and the battery was still ok.
The only drawback is the loger time for startup.
You developers should implement it in your 800+ stuff..

as far as I remember, there exists a standalone application that does this in a proper way:
poweroff by GregorRichards and dima_tr, see message #34 of

(have added it to the wikipage)

What fekhner said...

It's not quite as easy as init 0. There are some issues with just shutting down that may cause problems with the applications. But the concept is valid.

Don't try this one. It might cause malfunctions or lost data. Instead, go to the thread linked to above.

In particular: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...46&postcount=3 for the risks of the brusk approach.

And https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...8&postcount=34 to download the proper shutdown routine.

Would I be correct in assuming that shutting down the dr800 with this method is the safest way of swapping the microsd card ?
