Chinese Hanvon website showing new N618
I checked Chinese Hanvon / Hanwang website, and I saw they're showing one of their new devices we'll hopefully see this year in Western countries.
That's their 6", WiFi + stylus N618. http://www.hanwang.com.cn/epbooks/product/N618.html I have an idea that it is already sold in China. |

Interesting, Geppetto. Thanks. Like Lene, my Chinese is a little rusty, but I wonder if one of the several Chinese MR members might be able to tell us if this device is to be available on the mainland or if it will be on sale only off-shore. Also would love to know, if it's intended for mainland use, what book availability in Chinese landguages will be like and what geographical restrictions might come into play. Cheers. Neil

I've noticed N618 is already available on Chinese ebay-like website: www.taobao.com with the price around 3280 RMB (470 USD). You can get ebooks from Hanvon's official website http://www.hwebook.com.cn, but the amounts of ebooks on it is very limited, only 10,000 including 3,000 free ones.
That's all I know. |

Google translates as "Hanwang electromagnetic plate technology used to achieve hand-written, double-keyboard touch operation;" This might be Wacom (as used in the iRex and Onyx devices) or a Wacom-like approach.
