Free (Kindle) Marrakesh by Graham Diamond [Arabian Folktale-Based Adventure Fantasy]
Marrakesh by British author Graham Diamond (ISFDB, Wikipedia) is his apparently standalone (ISFDB lists a later book titled Marrakesh Nights, but does not group them in a series together) Arabic folklore-based fantasy novel chock-full of adventure and romance, inspired by the tale of Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves (Wikipedia; which as it turns out, was apparently a later European addition of unknown provenance to the classic 1001 Arabian Nights), starring a marketplace poet and a descendant of the fabled thieves as they journey in search of a legendary treasure, unaware of the evil that also wishes to possess it, free courtesy of publisher Endeavour Press' Venture imprint, who are e-printing it from its 1981 edition originally out from Fawcett Gold Medal.
Currently free @ Amazon (available to Canadians & in the UK and pretty much everywhere else that Amazon sells worldwide, since this is being done via their KDP Select exclusive-or-else program) Description Magic and miracles … satanic evil and everlasting love… Amid the colourful bazaars and dangerous alleyways of the legendary city of Marrakesh, the poet, Daniel, rescues the woman of his dreams. But she is not just his one true love… Siana is the daughter of the desert and descendant of the last of the fabled forty thieves of Ali Baba. Together, they set off to find the legendary treasure the Eye of Paradise, certain that no one can stand in the way of their quest. No one except the evil Dakkar. Born of Satan, living only to possess the Eye, Dakkar’s truly awesome black magic is already at work. And with Marrakesh in his clutches, he will stop at nothing to obtain his prize. Graham Diamond’s Marrakesh is an enthralling fantasy, packed with adventure. An exotic novel, sure to delight fans of The Arabian Nights. |
