Ha! My grandson (who is home today with an upset stomach) just asked me if I knew what a Kraken was. He's studied quite a bit about mythology. I told his about this thread.

Sigh, it seems it will be Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman. Looks like I will be reading a YA novel even though the New York Times says I should be less ashamed to read pornography.

Which month is the Pornography one?
I unashamedly started listening to Neverwhere yesterday, Neil Gaiman is reading it and it's good fun so far. |

Which is pretty much the attitude that has pretty much stopped my book club participation. |

Not to mention, gasp, the two time appearance of Lolita. Where is that plain brown wrapper? |

Let's make the next classics a pornography month. All we have to do is just nominate classic pornography and there we have it.

I wouldn't have placed Neverwhere as a YA novel myself. I thought it was rather adult.
It's a great book, but I don't particularly want to read it again. If I can remember all the details well enough I will still participate in the discussion. Meanwhile I'm off to play with my Kraken alone. All of you not voting Kraken - your names have been noted. *evil laugh* |

My library has a copy thankfully as it is $9.99 with no promo codes as an ebook, boo!

If Kraken had won, I was all ready to say, "Time to get crackin' with Kraken!"

Actually - I found a limited edition book cover for Kraken the other day which was rather lovely. I loaded it up into my Calibre to replace the existing cover. Have a gander.
Not bad eh? |

My library has Kraken too so what the heck, I put a hold on it too. Will pick up both this week! December is second chance month or was it January?
