Blech - Plastic Logic Delayed Que
had this ordered for my husband. He's a physicist and travels frequently ... hated the price tag but it looked like the best fit for his needs.
Email today. --- Dear , Thank you for being one of the first customers to order a QUE proReader from Plastic Logic. We appreciate your business. Today, I wanted to personally inform you that we are postponing the first QUE proReader shipments until this Summer in order to fine-tune the features and enhance the overall product experience. Within the next month we will send you an email with more details about your order. If you also ordered accessories for your QUE proReader, we plan to ship them at the same time as your QUE proReader. I can imagine that you want to get your QUE proReader as soon as possible. We are sorry for the delay. For your inconvenience, the shipping charges will be on us. Please note that we will not charge your credit card until your order is ready to ship. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email us at QUEhelp@PlasticLogic.com Once again, thank you for being one of our first QUE proReader customers. Best regards, Richard Archuleta CEO Plastic Logic |

Bummer! I have been holding out for the Que for my large screen reader but I may just go with the iRex800SG.

Lol. This is exactly why I keep telling people to shut about readers that aren't for sale yet. Until it's on shelves, it doesn't exist.
Is there a word for that? Vapor-hardware? |

Far better to delay the launch until the device is "right" rather than ship a buggy machine.

That is, of course, true. But there was a good window of opportunity for an early release. They should have put in overtime and worked twice as hard to get it right AND get it out early. That is where Europeans and Americans tend to lose out to Asian companies, imho.

you're right HarryT - as it is I was already reluctant to sink this much money into an untested product as an early adopter. Now I'm even more apprehensive ... but the intended user of this device has some pretty specific needs and the products being offered just aren't there yet. Neither of us were thrilled with the stylus on the iRex but maybe we should check it out in person.
I'm considering switching over to the Entourage Edge because from what I can see people seem to be pretty happy with it. I guess I'll wait until he gets back here next week and we'll discuss it. |

Stylus markup should have been included. One can't do any serious annotation on the device. They missed an opportunity by continually stating the device is for business professionals. A term which is too generic IMHO. The Entourage eDGe shipped on time and appears to have delivered a great experience. |

The Entourage eDGe is awesome and it truly delivers a great e-reading experience among other things. I highly recommend it unless you have a specific requirement for a lighter device.

This is a restatement of the idea that with nine women, you can get a baby in a month .
