One Free Audiobooks 20 to choose from [Offer Ended]
Hi All
Just came across this deal on ozbargains. It appears to be a new audiobook site it's marked as being in Beta(it's incredibly slow btw) books seem to be DRM free(will test that when I get home) no extra software was required for the download and there was 2 formats to choose from mp3 and m4b. At the moment they are giving away a free book from a selection of 20, you do have to create a login to do this (email,name, address) but no credit card details were required.

The site and signup process was slow due to the site being sluggish however the actual download of the book was usual speed for me.

Ok read some of the FAQ now and it does indeed appear that books are DRM free you can if you like get their App from Google Play or Itunes but it's not required to play the files.

It's Blackstone Audio. They spun off their consumer arm and named it Downpour. They're going after Audible, because they set up a similar subscription service.

Was just about to post this info to I worked it out when I went to the app store and saw the Blackstone logo. That's cool the more competition the better I really hope that they keep it DRM free moving forward

So far, they don't have a free trial period and their selection doesn't even approach Audible's vast catalog.

Not even close, but it might turn out to be another nice source for books. Looking at their membership pricing I might do the 2 for $11.99 for the first month and then cancel, but $14.99 per month/credit is more than I pay Audible so I'm not enticed into being a regular monthly member.

Most excellent! I got a free beta trial membership to them a few months back (as they were working the kinks out of their site) and I was still able to get this freebie offer. They have good quality audiobooks but their selection is still growing; I doubt they'll ever catch Audible but being DRM-free they will get more and more of my business.
