I have noticed that most translated strings that was in 4.99.16 (and earlier) are not in 4.99.17. Could this be an effect of the changes made in the new beta? The strings are still translated in Transifex.

Yes, e.g. when you open Preferences and go into any of the settings. The strings for the Preferences screen itself and most of the main calibre interface are translated so it doesn't effect all translations but when I open the Look & feel, Behavior, Add custom columns etc., most of the strings are not translate.

Feature List?
Is there a feature list for v5?
I see annotations and viewer improvements/changes mentioned in the replies in this thread, but is there anything new and exciting in the Editor or Library Management areas? Thanks |

Out of curiosity, did you have a possible date for the release of the V5 or is there still too much work for a reliable estimate?

This situation is exactly why I thought the monolithic direction the "Tools" Plugin went was a bad idea. It's much easier to get a ton of specialized help on a bunch of little simple things than it is to get a little bit of help on one giant convoluted and fragile thing. It takes much too much time and effort for even the willing and able to get up to speed on the big picture alone (before even attempting to contribute specifically). There's way too many things huddled under that one umbrella.

Speaking of DeDRM, I found a temporary solution in installing it in Calibre Portable (I keep 3.48 around for the rare case where I need the old viewer) to add the book to the portable library. Then switch back to main Calibre and use add book to get the dedrm'd file (or copy it to the autoadd folder).

For some reason when trying to open a book that I was able to open earlier in the day Calibre shows this error:
