I just told my acquaintance with the emotional IQ of a spatula that I would not move in with him unless he listened to two TGC courses on social skills--just 30 minutes a day. I offered 'em for free! He said he'd think about it. If I was him, I'd jump at the chance. Perhaps that's the difference between me and him...

Isn't it strange. A co-worker I thought I was going to have difficulties with has proven to be great and one that I thought I was going to be totally copacetic with has proven to be pretty awful.

I created two forums years ago and, sadly, it's time I delete them. Once I've saved all vital information, as well as the smilies, I'll do away with them. I put a lot of time and effort into them, but I was a bit too political and now they've gone to the wayside... When it comes to math homework, I feel the need to post on the progress I'm making online, so I think I'm going to start a blog somewhere. I wish we had blogs here, on MobileRead. I'd be willing to pay for such a service--become a premium member. |

I have a wisdom tooth bothering me. Dentist refuses to take it out for the root raps around the bottom part of the tooth next to it. I found an Oral Surgeon that had a cancellation so I got an appointment today. I doubt they will take it out today this will probably be just a consultation but I am still anxious. I had to get a letter of referral by my dentist or they would not see me. I was lucky to have a great dentist that took time between appointments to do this at short notice

If your dentist won't remove the tooth, the least they can do is give you a referral to someone who can help you.

This is something you DO want a specialist doing. You're FAR less likely to have problems. For one thing, these days specialists are using things like CT scans to get a better, 3-D look at the problem area. Few regular dentists have the budget for that kind of equipment. Plus, an Oral Surgeon sees, and operates on, a far greater number of tricky extractions. And have thus been practicing on other people before they get to you.

Fidelity Investments are a bunch of Bozos.
Thy suddenly cut me off from the investment vehicle I needed to use. No warning, just not available. Time to move my accounts. . . |

I had a similar problem with Barklays yesterday, but their problem was an idiot HTML author. The login screen linked directly to an advertisement that didn't have an exit. It was fixed this morning.

Are you aware that your vehicle is not even close to being parked correctly between the lines? Do you care? Is it apathy, selfishness, cluelessness, utter incompetence, or some combination of all four that makes you believe you have no obligation to even try? The lines painted on asphalt DO apply to you. Make a damn effort.

I have no time or energy to decipher what you might mean. I was ranting (rhetorically and independently) about people who can't park their cars/trucks in parking lots competently. I've no interest in your financial woes.

Goodness gracious, Raytheon was here at SVUNM. Staff members were holding an important meeting with Raytheon representatives (about financial assistance) and I was quacking, acting like a chicken, and mooing while singing Old McDonald Had a Farm with two children and playing doggy with their one-year-old sister (i.e., annoyingly barking and following her around).
If I had known they were holding such a meeting, I would've acted much more professionally, but no one one told me! *embarrassed* |

The large municipal park that is between me and work has a festival grounds. They have a festival every year around Halloween that is far too big for the grounds and it blocks up the park and makes traffic around it bad for weeks. Seriously, they block off streets through the park almost two weeks before. The festival ended Sunday. They STILL haven't picked up all their mess and reopened the park. *Ugh*
/Plus, it was very loud. I'm two miles away and thought there was a rave nextdoor on the final night. A friend who lives across the bayou said her house shook from sound checks on. Last edited by covingtoncat73; 11-01-2018 at 07:07 PM. |
