Free (Kindle/Nook/Kobo/Sony/iBooks) The Incredible Tito [Vintage Political Biography]

The Incredible Tito: Man of the Hour is a classic vintage 1940s era biography of the Yugoslavian leader who held the region together through sheer force of will (which immediately Balkanized into uncivil war right after he died), brought into e-print by Open Road Media, whom I sincerely hope offer more freebies in the future and have more discount sale promotions as they do make a reasonably quality product, albeit with somewhat disproportionately high pricing for some of their offerings ($14.99 "suggested" for 80s-era midlist sf paperback-only backlist, sigh).

Currently free @ Amazon (available to Canadians and in the UK). Will hopefully show up in the other stores, but I think their last batch of Einstein freebies was Amazon-only, so I wouldn't wait on it. Also, to more quasi-academic "serious" non-fiction freebies. We don't get nearly enough of them, IMHO.

Description
Fast’s fascinating biography of Joseph Broz, known to the world as Tito, including his rise to power and his remarkable stand against fascism

The world was mired in the Second World War when Howard Fast wrote The Incredible Tito. Upon the book’s publication in 1944, there was still no united Yugoslavia, the Axis controlled most of Europe, and D-Day was only in the planning stages. In the Balkans, Tito was a beacon of hope against the advancing Nazis. He led a force of resistance fighters that bedeviled the occupying German army throughout Slavic regions and empowered people’s committees to act as local government in all liberated areas. For observers on the political left, Tito seemed uniquely poised to unite the East and West against fascism—once and for all.

This ebook features an illustrated biography of Howard Fast including rare photos from the author’s estate.

Oh, hey, I was wrong and glad to be so.

Also free @ B&N, Kobo (available to Canadians), and… $0.01 over at Sony.

Sometimes I seriously think that Sony has gone and staffed its ebookstore with infinite monkeys in front of infinite keyboards in the hopes of eventually randomly producing some kind of site-organization/marketing-management equivalent of Shakespeare.

Also free @ iTunes (available to Canadians), and the semi-mystery is solved.

There's a few dozen upcoming Open Road-republished novels by Howard Fast, priced at $9.99 pre-orders slated for release Dec 20-27th.

Well, I wasn't expecting it to actually happen, but Sony has finally adjusted their price on this from $0.01 to completely free, as it should be.

Suggested title update which will fit:

Free (Kindle/Nook/Kobo/Sony/iBooks) The Incredible Tito [Vintage Political Biography]
