Strange loop on nook color

Looking at the Pictures of the new nook color, there's an odd loop at the lower left corner.
At first I thought, it's a nook in a cover and it's a cut-out to reach the SD-slot or something like that.
But looking at the 360 view, it clearly is a loop.

Looks really strange, cheap and ugly.
What's the purpose?
Taking nook with you on your keyring???

Any ideas?

Else it's certainly interesting, although I'm not sure yet how it'll compete to "real" tablets like Samsung Galaxy Tab.

It's a "signature desgn element".

No. It is a strap not a charm. When you fall a sleep reading the darn thing it won't hit the floor!

Women are a huge segment of the ebook buying market. Look at the covers B&N markets for the nook, there is no doubt they would have a charm attachment.

It gives bead artists a place to attach something decorative. Many like to make bookmarks for paper books, so now we can do the same for ebooks.

Watch for many overprice designer accessory that will certainly show up on the B&N website for people who want to "personalize" their nooks.
