Hmm, how long is a piece of code ?
Hey everybody,
For all those lovers of sony ereaders ............... I have a PRS t1 and I want to root it (now thats in the nicest way !) I have tried a few things already so you may as well know the sad story.... Firstly, I have v1.0.04.12210 and it is proving to be a stubborn bugger to update. When I try the official 1.0.5.11130 it gets upset on the 2nd reboot and wont complete. I have tried extracting the folder to the reader and tried to install it from the reader but NO. I really wanted to get rupors minimal root as this was the most recent and I liked the 3rd page feature but I tried Borodas first as I had the 1.0.4 version and the apk files seemed to be installed but I couldnt access the Android features i.e.. it seemed like it wasnt rooted at all. I have gone back to stock settings after having all sorts of trouble with USB not being recognized etc.. Anyway this is how the story is going........................ |

the story continues
By the way I have windows 64 bit so the flashing with windows wont work properly so I am using the Sd card method.
Thought Id be clever and flash OS firmware v1.0.05 but it doesnt like it and here is the log. Starting /etc/rc.d/rcS /initrd/mnt/sd/OS Firmware/files/new.mmcblk2p9.img: Checksum 69d83ba82e2b3cf8490530934b0ff79e correct Saving mmcblk2p9 49176+0 records in 49176+0 records out Flashing mmcblk2p9 49176+0 records in 49176+0 records out Flashing mmcblk2p9 complete 0 /initrd/mnt/sd/OS Firmware/files/new.mmcblk2p10.img: Checksum aaff45607e5fb7ea27d176eb8bf44cfb correct Saving mmcblk2p10 131096+0 records in 131096+0 records out Flashing mmcblk2p10 102169+0 records in 102169+0 records out Flashing mmcblk2p10 complete 0 Image mmcblk2p1 not found Image mmcblk2p2 not found Flashing /initrd/mnt/sd/OS Firmware/files/new.ramdisk.uimg 419+1 records in 419+1 records out As you can see the 4th and 5th line from the bottom. Not good. So, unless someone has any other ideas I am going to try flashing 1.0.04 again.. |

Latest info
Hi everybody,
I know that many people have looked at my problem but not been able to help. Could the unit have been updated to the 1.0.07 version without it showing on the device information page ? Thanks And if so is it possible to remove this update and go back to another thats more compatible with rooting ? Thanks |
