Transferring ebooks to Stanza?
I'm using calibre and converted books to epub. Transferred them to my phone, but they dont show up in Stanza (however they do show up in iBooks, I just like Stanza more). So I tried running the calibre content server. Added it manually in my phone, and clicked on the first book and it gives me an error when I try to download it, and this is the message:
Import Failed Failed to download and import ebook:Failed writing downloaded book data to /private/var/mobile/Applications/etcetc Is there anything else I can try? Or does stanza not work with iOS4 or something? |

I believe I have used Calibre's server as well since iOS4 with no problems, but can't say for sure-I can test it tonight if you like. |

The weird thing I guess is that all of the books are on my phone. Like I said, after i transferred them, they were all added to itunes on my phone under the "Books" tab, and they were all added to my iBooks library. But for the life of me I can't get them into my stanza library.

Edit: Nevermind. I realized when I looked at the error message again that Stanza was having trouble writing to the downloaded content to the iPhones hard drive. So i powered the phone off and back on, and its working fine now Last edited by mtko; 07-09-2010 at 02:45 PM. |

Another great way to get content to your iPhone/iPad is Dropbox. I was not much for the whole "Cloud Computing" idea... but after working with it a while I have to say it is the best. The free Dropbox account gets you 2 gig of storage, which is a ton of documents and ebooks..... Stanza, Goodreader.... and even iBooks (to a limited degree) work smoothly with it....
Just something to look into |
