Book Thickness in Cover Browser

I like flicking through the cover browser every now and then. It is one of the few semi-tangible things that you can see to represent your ebook collection, and is closely related to scanning your eye along rows of books on shelves. Something that pleases the collector instinct!

Anyway, the covers are 2D, it might make them look slightly more like books if they had a bit of depth too? You could even have longer books slightly thicker!

Something for developers who have run out of better things to do? Which never happens of course.

I currently have about 250 bug reports to get through, though with these kinds of things, developer motivation is greatly assisted by a mockup showing just how cool the new look would be

Indeed! The list of stuff to do is endless.

I will see if I can come up something motivational - though my skills at image manipulation are rudimentary!

yes this would be great. specially if-
> one could rotate the book and the back cover of the '3d' book showing the meta for that book (or if back cover is available)...
> the books in the scroll list on the right and left show their thick part with the title, author and publisher, just like stacked books on a shelf

I am drooling just imagining it
