Das Buch war von mir genau vor einem halben Jahr schon einmal hochgeladen worden; damals hatte ich das noch bestehende Urheberrecht übersehen. Hier also im zweiten Anlauf:
Robert Heymann (* 28. Februar 1879 in München; † 1946) war ein deutscher Schriftsteller, Dramaturg, Drehbuchautor und Filmregisseur. … (Er) veröffentlichte seit 1901 Dramen und Romane (u. a. „Istar, das ist die Liebe“, „Tod“, „Herrenrecht“, „Das Bild von Sais“ und „Gefallene Frauen“). Seit 1902 arbeitete er zudem als Dramaturg für das Überbrettl, das Zentraltheater in Zürich, und das Intime Theater in München. Zeitweise war er Journalist für die Basler Zeitung. …
Ab 1918 beschränkte er sich auf das Schreiben von Drehbüchern, und bereits Mitte der 20er Jahre zog er sich aus dem Filmgeschäft zurück. Er darf nicht mit seinem Sohn, dem Krimi- und Westernautor Robert Heymann junior (Robert Arden, 1901−1963) verwechselt werden (aus Wikipedia).
Bei "Der rote Komet" handelt es sich um einen – kurzen – Zukunftsroman mit durchaus überraschend hellsichtigen Aspekten, wenngleich der Autor natürlich keinerlei Vorstellung haben konnte vom tatsächlichen Verlauf speziell der wissenschaftlich-technischen Entwicklung. Aber wie so oft in Zukunftsromanen geht es auch hier eher um das Ausspinnen einer fantastischen Idee. Das gelingt dem Verfasser – auch mittels seines mitunter geheimnisvollen Stils.
