Poe, Edgar Allan: The Murders In The Rue Morgue v1. 13 Apr 07
Being a victim of public education, I had no idea that Edgar Allan Poe wrote three stories featuring what many people believe to be the first detective in fiction.
His character, C. Auguste Dupin was the prototype for many fictional detectives that came later (most notably Sherlock Holmes). In this story, Mr. Dupin investigates a troubling double-murder--the victims were brutally murdered in a seemingly inaccessible room in a house on the Rue Morgue, a street in Paris. This is actually a short story rather than a book, but since my book editor can't make a table of contents file, I figured I would just make three different books. Great for a short read during your lunch break at work. I'm also finishing up the covers on the other two, so I will post those soon. I too am a victim of the public schools. Thankfully I went to high school in the Baltimore area where Poe and Mencken are still regarded as giants.
Great cover art. Thanks. |

Thanks UncleDuke! I'm on a Mac, so I used a program called Libriate. It's a very bare bones type of program. It only allows me to place a cover and convert a straight .txt file into .lrf. I really am jealous of all the features that BookDesigner has.
I would really like to be able to adjust font sizes and margins, but until I get an intel-mac or they update Libriate this is as much as I can do. |
