I second Ghost Story and Clive Barker's superb Books of Blood.

Austin Crawley is a particularly good author for this. He has two books, Letters to the Damned and A Christmas Tale. The latter is about three women doing a seance to raise the fictional ghosts from Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol. Very creepy results!

The Monstrumologist books, by Rick Yancey.

They'll scare what ever you are wearing right off of you!

This thread is a good example of supernatural horror if you're into necromancy, but I'll add in Dan Simmon's Carrion Comfort. It's still rare I fall back on the horror habit of my youth, but that book was quite satisfyingly creepy. Many of the characters are extreme racial/ethnic stereotypes on the surface, but he somehow does bring them to life as full fledged characters. And honestly these somewhat cringey elements add to the creep factor.

I would regard The Turn of the Screw (Henry James) as having supernatural elements; though it could be argued that it's a psychological horror.

I've been meaning to read that for ages! I should bump it up the list.

Oh and Ghost Story by Jeff Brackett is another good one.
