Can't install RNDIS on W7? Not even Windows Mobile.
I've been trying to SSH into my Kindle for several hours now with various methods. I installed usbNetwork.0.11, the DXi version (as I have the DXi). Windows 7 does not recognize the drivers, so I DL'd Windows Mobile drivers. Those did not work either as it does not detect my Kindle. In addition to this, EVERY TIME I UNPLUG MY KINDLE MY WIRELESS GOES DOWN. Regardless of the mode my Kindle is in, even if I uninstall usbNetwork and plug it in, or (as of now) any other external device or drive, my net connection goes down and I have to use W7' troubleshoot problems to fix it. This started immediately after I installed usbNetwork. Could someone point me in the right direction of where I can fix my problem and get RNDIS drivers that work?

Hi,
windows mobile center driver didn't work for me either. But I found an other solution, happily xerox provides a RNDIS driver to service their copy machines, it's called xerox service port. download NDIS Driver Xerox it's a selfextracting exe, extract and and instert kindle usb cable, when it ask for driver point to XeroxServicePort.inf in xp/vista driver config network adapter ip4 settings to ip:192.168.2.1 subnet:255.255.255.0 afterwards telnet (eg. putty) to 192.168.2.2 here it goes sometimes it stucks and the adapter is deactivated and does't get activated again, since it's windows reboots helps |
