Calibre settings that are library specific are stored in the metadata.db file inside the Calibre library folder for a given library. Therefore copying the library folder with all its contents will transfer both the library contents and any such settings.

Other more generic Calibre settings are stored in the calibre configuration folder whose location can be found by going to Settings->Advanced->Miscellaneous->Open Configuration folder. You can copy the complete contents of the Configuration folder between machines.

I believe that some plugins store absolute path information in their configuration. If both machines do not have the same drive letter allocation then in such cases the plugin will need re-installing and/or re-configuring.

The only core calibre configuration data that I can think of which uses absolute paths is the libraries list. So when you try to open calibre for the first time, and each time you switch to a new (unfixed) library, there will be a friendly popup saying the library has been moved, and asking you to either choose the new location or agree to forget that library.

Hello, thank you, yes this is was what I was after. I copied the entire Calibre library to the new computer, then copied the metadata.db file also. All works fine. I wish this would be mentioned in the user manual or on the actual Calibre program menu under the library maintenance section perhaps. maintenance.
