I don't consider the Oasis the inferior device here. They're just different. The Libra has some wonderful features but the Oasis does as well. I guess it's a matter of taste. |

In what way is AZW3 layout not the same as Kepub layout? AFAIK, with 1 exception, the limitators of Kepub (forced minimum line height, no ligatures) are the same as AZW3. (the exception is measurements in actually length, like 2 inch indents or margins. Kobo Kepub does not calculate DPI, and uses a fixed 'guess' based on resolutions from the 160 DPI days.) |

I have a Mercedes and a Chevy Volt. My 'Premier' Volt is nowhere near as luxurious as my Mercedes. On the other hand, I'm not spending sixty dollars in gas every two weeks either. |

Why are we using the word inferior at all? They're just different and some people like one and some people like the other. You can even like both.

On the Kobo, KePub is similar to KF8 on the Kindle. One is not that different then the other. |

Yet another thread where the gotchas and the sniping have to stop.

It's been like this for the last few days in a lot of threads. I'm not sure why. A few weeks ago I was thinking this was such a nice place where people respected each other's opinions without sniping at each other. But now it feels different in a lot of threads.

Oh by the way, I've decided to try one last Kobo Libra. It's arriving today. I'm not sure if my experience will be any better this time, but perhaps I can handle the lighting better now that it won't be my 'main' device (since I also read a lot on my Oasis). I can use the Libra to read during the day and the Oasis for in the dark?
Kobo just has so many features I like it's hard for me to write them off all together because I don't like the lighting. |
