The Kindle Romance deal of the day is Outlaw in Paradise by Patricia Gaffney for $1.99

Quote:
A legendary gunfighter brings big trouble to a frontier town, and ignites the passion of a local saloon owner

When Jesse Gault saunters into Paradise, Oregon, with a gun on each hip, the town is instantly abuzz. What could a legendary gunslinger want in Paradise? And what will the townsfolk have to do to keep his trouble from becoming their own? Cady McGill, proprietor of the Rogue Tavern, thinks she may know what Gault has come for, and she doesn’t like it one bit.

Cady’s ongoing battle with Merle Wylie, who has been buying up or burning down properties all over town, is coming to a head, as Wylie tries to get his hands on her tavern and her dried-up gold mine. Hiring a gunfighter like Gault would be just Wylie’s speed. But Cady senses something else behind Gault’s mysterious façade, and as the two grow closer she learns that his closely guarded secrets could spell life or death for the town—and for Cady herself.

This is the first book in Kathleen Brooks' Best-Selling Bluegrass Series.

McKenna Mason, a New York City attorney with a love of all things Prada, is on the run from a group of powerful, dangerous men. McKenna turns to a teenage crush, Will Ashton, for help in starting a new life in beautiful horse country. She finds that Will is now a handsome, successful race horse farm owner. As the old flame is ignited, complications are aplenty in the form of a nasty ex-wife, an ex-boyfriend intent on killing her, and a feisty race horse who refuses to race without a kiss. Heartstrings and Diamond Rings by Jane Graves $2.99. This is the fourth in the series and the only one I haven't read yet so I was happy to see it go on sale. I've really enjoyed the other books.

In Honor Bound (The Chastelayne Trilogy) [Kindle Edition]
DeAnna Julie Dodson (Author)

http://www.amazon.com/Honor-Bound-Ch...154606011_f_54

Quote:
His father will stop at nothing to keep the royal bloodline "pure" --even murder. But his sins have nearly destroyed Prince Philip and the future of his reign.

Forced into a political marriage, Philip tells his bride, "I will not lie to you, I will not be unfaithful to you, and I will not love you. My heart is pledged to another and I am not a man to break an oath."

His one true love is a lowly serving girl. When Philip refuses to set her aside in order to form a politically beneficial marriage, his father has the girl tried on false charges and executed. He then forces Philip to marry the beautiful and nobly born Lady Rosalynde. Devastated and embittered by his loss and his father's betrayal, Philip is determined to never love again . . . not his father, not his wife, not his God. Although Rosalynde adores him, he withholds his heart from her, refusing to let even death end his devotion to the love he lost. Despite his coldness towards her, Rosalynde is determined to love him and teach him to love her -- as determined as the God he has turned his back on. As civil war rages throughout the realm, Philip faces a greater struggle within himself. Will he open his heart to love again or let his pride destroy him and his kingdom?

DeAnna Julie Dodson is the author of The Chastelayne Trilogy: "In Honor Bound," "By Love Redeemed" and "To Grace Surrendered" and the contemporary mysteries, "Letters in the Attic," "The Key in the Attic," "The Diary in the Attic" and "The Legacy in the Attic." Writing as Julianna Deering, she is author of the 1930s Drew Farthering Mystery series which includes "Rules of Murder" and "Death by the Book," coming from Bethany House Publishers beginning in August, 2013.

If You Dare [Kindle Edition]
Liz Lee (Author)

http://www.amazon.com/If-You-Dare-eb...154606011_f_60

Quote:
Fantasy meets reality when Cordelia Lewis takes her sister up on a dare and decides to live life on the wild side for a week. Escaping from the expectations of her small town life, Cordelia flies to Las Vegas. She’s still the same small town girl she’s always been, she’s just vamped up her life with a bad girl attitude.

Corporate lawyer Joe Sterling is on the road to riches with a junior partnership in his law firm right around the corner. A small town escapee, big city life is perfect for him. And when his neighbor asks him to show her sister how much fun big city life can be, he’s all for it.
Neither Joe nor Cordelia expect their fantasy fling to be more than that. But sometimes fantasy becomes something far more.

The Siren of Paris [Kindle Edition] David LeRoy (Author)

http://www.amazon.com/The-Siren-of-P...154606011_f_11

Quote:
Marc Tolbert upon his death in 1967 is trapped in a seemingly eternal limbo, surrounded by the company of other ghost’s of the unknown dead from World War Two. A single question of a German Army Officer asked him in 1940 haunts him now in death as it did in his life. What Siren of Paris called him into this hellish war? To find his release he must now witness his life during the war from the great beyond.

The reader is transported to World War II-era France. In 1939, 20-year-old Marc Tolbert has reached a turning point in his life. He abandons his plans of going to medical school to study art in Paris, which is the place of his birth. As he boards the S.S. Normandie to cross to France, he chooses to ignore signs that Europe -- along with the rest of the world -- is on the brink of an especially devastating war. Broken hearted over a fail relationship in the States, with the hope that Paris will receive him, this one small delicious sin of denial will end up costing Marc nearly everything including the peace of his soul.

The Siren of Paris is a unique allegorical historical story that blends in spiritual journey of the soul inspired by the Egyptian Book of the Dead. It includes many actual historical figures and events, including Ambassador Bullitt, Sumner Wells, Sylvia Beach, Jacques Lusseyran, the Angel of Saint-Nazaire Joan Rodes, the sinking of the RMS Lancastria and the liberation of Buchenwald. This is a story of a man seeking release from a past that never goes away, delievered in deceptively simple prose that guides the reader through a tapestry of mythic images, symbols and signs drawn from Jungian Depth Psychology that has haunted more than a few readers with the horrors of war.

P.S. If people haven't picked them up yet, The Wild Rose Press is also participating in Read an Ebook Week with some freebies directly off their site as well.

If people have a problem with inspirational fiction you can always gives it one big post instead of a several.

I will always post inspirational romances here just so people know and I appreciate any pointed out to me. I like clean romances sometimes if it's too preachy I just don't read it but alot of the stuff coming out these days are less and less like that. Some are heating up in the romance area. Authors are getting we need chemistry between the heroine and hero for it to be called a romance. If the traditional regency authors could pull off a great romance without sex in it they have no excuse.

I just finished The Gamester by Elizabeth Chater last night. A Traditional Regency romance with No sex only two kisses and yet I couldn't put down the book. I spent the whole day forgoing my nap reading it well into the night. It was a freebie I got here. Now I have 17 of her books to read that I bought after just reading a few chapters.

I think it's more a problem with lots of Christian books and few of the other things those people might prefer to read, which I understand can be disappointing if it seems like you're not getting anything while others are receiving a bonanza you can't benefit from.

Anyway, for official publisher promo freebies which tend to appear across multiple stores and have availability from less than a day for glitch freebies to years for permafreebies and repeat at intervals between several weeks to several years, I think they really belong in their own threads as spotlight so they can be treated as individual offerings, which they really are and people can see them easily upon checking in Deals instead of digging through a long thread which may have fallen back several pages (I had to dig to find the Horror monthly thread again to post in it) to sift them out from whatever else is being offered (and casual member chat).

(Plus, the less work I have to do with an update (e.g. typing "repeat freebie @" without having to re-copy the title/author and re-link), the more inclined I am to actually post things.)

Also, subgenres can be really different, so books may not be nearly as thematically linked as they might initially seem. Although I do batch bunches of related stuff from the same author/imprint if there's a lot of them in one day.

For ephemeral stuff like KDP Select freebies and one-day pricedrops with a limited shelf life, megathreads work better for those, IMHO.

And if people don't like my approach to posting, well, they're free to re-post whatever they like in the megathreads if they think it works best for notices, and also free to click the ignore button under my username to hide my individual threads. It's not like I post much besides publisher freebies in this forum, so they won't exactly be missing out on scintillating discussion or whatnot.
