Amazon.com Down? - Yup, Missing in Action
My Kindle just arrived at the door (in less than 24 hours with the free shipping option no less!), and I can't get on Amazon through my PC or the Kindle. Is Amazon down, or is it me?

I'm the one having the stroke right now. I dropped all that jingle to get the darned thing here so quick and now all of a sudden Amazon's down????? Gee whiz. I feel like the kid on Christmas morning who's dad forgot to buy batteries for the new toy and all the stores in town are closed until tomorrow.

glad it is not just me...I just today got a Kindle and was testing the wireless and *poof* nuttin...I was thinking it was the device then I browsed to the site and got the error message.
I sure am glad they shipped all the stuff I ordered yesterday already...Bezos needs to pay the DSL bill more often...or my Kindle was the tipping point and when I tried to connect to pushed it over the edge... |

Just read that Amazon was bought out by SONY and we all have to buy new Sony readers. Sony indicated they will give Kindle owners a 3% discount on the PRS-505's

Wow... that is like the first time ever I've seen Amazon.com going down.
I made this screenshot so I can tell my grandchildren about it one day. |

It seems not even Amazon is immune from recession. Someone forgot to pay the electricity bills...

The secure web connection is still working:
https://www.amazon.com/ A News.com guy calculated that based on last quarter's revenue of $4.13 billion, a full-scale global outage would cost Amazon more than $31,000 per minute on average! |

https://www.amazon.com works, but slowly. And you'll have to keep adding the s in https as you move around the site
