In theory, any computer can get a virus. But generally you have to download something to get it. Further, it would seem like a rather unusual platform to write a virus for. In any case, if you downloaded from legal sources (i.e., ebook stores or sites like P.G.) it would be highly unlikely that you would get a virus.

Bill is 100% correct but look at the issue a little differently. If you are inclined to write a virus for an ebook reader which reader would you most likely spend your time on a Kindle and/or a Sony PRS or a Kobo. Since no one has heard of a Kobo chances are slim to none that you are going to take the time and effort to write he virus for a Kobo. You are more likely to write it for a Kindle of a Sony PRS. So because of the anonymity of the Kobo its highly unlikely that a virus writer would take the time and effort to attack a Kobo.

I have nothing against a Kindle or a Sony PRS its just that they are popular and well known and makes them victims. In fact if Amazon and/or Sony would sell me a Kindle or a PRS for $100 I would buy in a heart beat. I just don't want to spend what they are asking for them.

The OS is based on Linux so it would be hardly likely.

But as said before anything like that is possible if someone was inclined to do so...really inclined!

Alternatively, if you sneeze on the screen.....
