But there is one difference - the slow screen (about 8 Hertz). Animations that look interesting on a smartphone or tablet can interfere with eInk. Anyway, I have all my reader specialists (Kindle, Kobo) flying around somewhere and only use Android devices from Onyx-Boox, Boyue-Likebook and Tolino. |

Aside for some 3rd part reading apps, i never tried to change the launcher or used calibre companion. When i connect my nova to the laptop, calibre show first books that are not present also on device, so it's easy to manual sync with new added books. System software is far from perfect, i'm wondering if i'm living with all a series of small bugs i can do without |

You can set the screen to A2 or X-Mode, then you can see it fluently, but there is no complete refresh. |

Oh dear. Apart from having a cute name, this device looks very interesting. If it had physical page turn buttons I’d be sold immediately.

Yes, sadly. Physical buttons probably aren’t a popular feature? I have using a Pocketbook device and I love the fact that it has buttons for page turns, to open the menu and to go to the home screen.
Regardless of the buttons, it still looks like a fine device. I’d love to hear people’s experiences with it. |

I don't even use it on the Tolino Epos2 Quote:
Before, the Android 4.4.2 Tolino Epos2 was my main reader - upside down landscape, two columns, buttons down (which I didn't use). Now it is the Poke2 because it is handier and lighter, the screen with its setting options better. The only thing I really miss is the back button. |

In the past I have owned a Kobo Forma, which is hardware-wise the same as the Tolino Epos 2. I didn't like it. I couldn't get used to the shape and the positioning of the buttons. Like you I prefer a handier and lighter reader. A device with a 6 inch screen seems best for me. Does the Poke 2 work well with Calibre? I'm assuming it does. |

I have Calibre companion installed on my Poke2 and it works just like any android tablet.
As far as desktop calibre, when I plug my Poke2 into the desktop, calibre recognizes 'Poke2' is connected. If you have calibre companion on your device, desktop calibre will default to place books into the 'calibre companion' folder. I change this in device settings in calibre. If you just use desktop calibre and don't have calibre companion installed on your device, calibre will default to 'books' folder. |

I have more than 13,000 books - in Boox's own library that means about 2,200 pages and this is no longer manageable.
That's why I use Calibre Companion - this software offers the same sorting and finding functions as Calibre. Furthermore, I have mirrors from my library on Box and on OneDrive and can therefore access my library via any internet connection without having to be at a computer. I only use wire for charging - for file transfer WiFi File Transfer Pro |

I want PocketBook and Onyx to start dating. Their love child would be a wonderful e-reader. I’d gladly pay €200 for a 6 inch e-reader with 4 buttons and all the functionality of an Android device. Just a thought.
