imbed image in metadata
I am confused about the wording in the icon-enabled pop up window for imbedding an image in calibre's metadata. I want to be able to see the image in the metatdata under all circumstances: (1) while in calibre, (2) using any ebook reader, (3) Barnes & Noble Nook, (4) Amazon Kindle.
Best Regards, Pop |

Most devices only respond to 'standard' metadata. Others use a different process (requires online connection) to show additional Metadata The popup embeds a LINK. The image must be available to the viewing device (behaves like a WEB page) If you always want, you need to modify the book to INCLUDE the Image and local Link (no different than a 'cover' or other image. ) on a books page. |

Thanks for your reply. That is what I am trying to figure out: Nook software, Kimble software, calibre content server, and calibre regular ebook reader. I have not been able to put an image into any of them, but the image does show up properly in the (a) main calibre screen, (b) when tapping the "change title/author/cover etc of books" icon. You can tap on "normal view" when on "basic metadata"screen and then hit the "insert image" icon. The image appears when you do and you can see the code for its inclusion when you tap on "html source". I would somehow like to direct the source of the image to the book itself, not some outside source. Best regards, Pop

You cannot. Comments in the metadata can only reference image files locally available on your computer, not images inside the book.
