Kindle Touch file system corrupted
Hi,
I have a very strange problem with my Kindle Touch. The long and the short of it is that there are some corrupt, undeletable files on it which is causing the kindle to not work. Basically I cannot download new content and it appears to be because the file system/book database is corrupt. I have been using Calibre Have tried numerous resets/factory resets ranging from holding down power for 10-60 seconds. Takes AAAGGGEEESSS to restart Files get stuck on indexing, so tried to delete them. Certain files are corrupted (going in through windows explorer) so could not be deleted. Bit the bullet and formatted the drive On factory reset, to my surprise all the files that were delete reappeared, as if some internal copy had been put back on the accessible partition (it has done this several times) with all the corruption issues I can read the content that's on there but something is very wrong here. Would be very grateful for any help! Thanks Gareth |

Recommend a new Kindle paper white 2. If you have a kindle touch then it is probably somewhere around three years old, because that's when amazon changed the name from the touch to the paper white.

Just plug it into you computer & go to the main HD in the kindle.. then click FORMATE! Wont take long as the HD on the Kindle is so small LOL After that will be like new!

The OP states that he has already tried reformatting the drive, and that this did not solve the problem.
