PPro review starts on TeleRead

Teleread is starting a two week review of the Pocket Reader Pocket Pro:

Quote:
Last night, Paul Biba startled me with an offer: he had received a review unit of Astak’s 5” Pocket PRO EZ Reader, but did not have the time to review it. Did I want to?

Did I ever‽ This will make a great opportunity to compare this competing e-book reader to what I remember of the Sony. With that in mind, I am starting a new series of columns: Two weeks with an Astak 5”
The reviewer plans to compare the Astak with the Sony he reviewed previously. I won't try to review the review. The article starts here:

Ok as an article. I do find it amazing the number of reviews that make the lack of wireless a make or break factor. I assume that with wireless they are being referring to the Kindle and Sony with the 3G mobile-phone-wireless and not 802.11 WiFi you have on your notebooks?

Well, wireless connectivity appeals to those that prefer their ebook reader to be a standalone gadget rather than a PC-fed accessory.
All a matter of taste I suppose.

Being that the PEz ability to organize files (your library) is about nil at this time, using a PC is almost mandatory any way.
I can think of many reasons not to do WiFi, Cell or Blue Tooth connectivity. They all have to do with battery usage

Wireless costs money. Reviewers should be aware that not everyone has the money to buy every good idea.
