lost icons and editing problems

Hi

I have lost the virtual library icon, and also the live preview inside the edit books.
can get live preview outside the main editing book, but is awkward to use.

have uninstalled calibre and reinstalled calibre, but still missing.

what do I do now.

re-install rarely fixes misplaced items, since they (placement) are saved between sessions.

The word you are looking for is DOCKED. just double click the titlebar of the loose 'preview pane' and it should return to its last docked position.
or drag the window, so that the top LEFT corner intersects with the desired anchor point (even if you are docking on the RIGHT. It will snap to that location, INSIDE)

And the search bar I'd wager. Click the Layout button in the status bar (next to the Jobs spinner), and then select Show Search bar.

You probably hit the keyboard shortcuts to Hide the Search bar in the main calibre Window, and the Preview window in the editor (assuming there is one).
