And then we get yet another Kobo with a poor battery. That's not good for business and it's not good for the users.

I want a Libra BW with the better processor and better battery.

Thin and light is good. If the battery must be small for the device to be thin and light, so be it.

I always scratch my head. I never think about batteries. For some folks it seems like a pressing problem. It's been very rare that I even see a low battery popup.

Apparently you connect to your computer often then. I don't connect often, as I keep a lot of books on my ereaders and so don't need to constantly load new books.

Although small and light is considered good, I disagree about the size. One thing I've noticed with many devices, like Digital Audio Players, is that they have become so small that they are difficult to use. I'd rather have a larger device (not massively large but fits comfortably in the hand) with a longer battery life. That is one of the best things about the iPod Classic, it fits comfortably in the hand.

However, one of the reasons I retired my iPod Classic was due to the short playing time. It gave me playing-time anxiety where I'm often concerned about my battery dying while I'm using it (once I took it with me while travelling and it was at about 75% charge and it died after about 2 hours). I could almost see the battery gauge take a hit everytime I touched a control.

That is a concern with any device that I use. I need at least 18 hours of playing time to ensure that I have enough playing time to last me all day, and I can fully charge it while I sleep if needed. That's why I prefer e-ink e-readers, the charge will last all day.

No way at all. Think and light with a crap battery is a worthless device.

We need a good 7" screen Kobo with a better battery be it thicker and heavier if need be.

If you wait until 2027, you'll be able to get a music player that has a replaceable battery thanks to the EU. The EU have made it so these sort of devices have to have a user replaceable battery. That means phones like the iPhone have to have a user replaceable battery.

So if you take your music player on a trip, while traveling, you can have a spare battery if needed.

We already have Kobo with crap battery. And I cannot recommend any of them. The Sage and the Eplisa have too poor a battery.

So no. We should not have a new Kobo with a poor battery.

Who has a 3rd party origami case for the Libra 2 that's still available to be purchased that you like that is a sleep/wake case? I'm thinking of getting a new case as the one I have is starting to fall apart. It's a Kobo case I got for the Libra 2.

That's why I use a CD/MP3 player that uses AA batteries when travelling. I can use rechargeable AAs and, if necessary (the rechargeable AAs have been discharged), I can just buy disposable AAs that I can buy anywhere.
