No cases for me. If I break it, the money I've saved on cases will pay for a new one.
I'm generally careful with my stuff, and haven't damaged any of my readers, phones, tablets, PDAs or handheld consoles over the last 3 decades. I do usually use a case for transport. |

![]() It certainly makes me a bit more comfortable putting the Oasis down on a surface - a bit of cushioning. This one's a bit slicker than expected - not quite as 'rubbery' as I expected - certainly a bit less grippy than my iPhone case. I'll see how I get on. It fits pretty well. |

A case does give some protection. One other advantage to a case is that it makes the reader nicer to hold and depending on the case, you can use it as a stand. Also, the case does auto-sleep which is a very good feature.
I would never take my Reader outside of the house without a case. I don't care how padded the bag it's in is. |

I use a case on my PW. However, I sometimes read at home without the case.

Glad you're enjoying it. As mentioned, I have one for every ebook reader I own/use. The one for my Kindle Scribe is particularly useful, since it, too, has a metal back and is less slippery when held. Too, it has the four-corner 'bumps' that allow a greater degree of comfort when resting in the palms of my hands. |

All of my current in use phone, tablet and Kobo have full protection on them. The cases were purchased at the same time the devices were purchased. I wouldn't do without them. I'd rather be safe than sorry.

I'm thinking of getting a new case for my Libra 2. I just have to find one I like and then decide to do it.

I've always had my readers in a case. Always. And yet, one of them broke in 2019. While being in its case, sitting in my bag. I tripped and fell that day and even though I did not remember to have fallen onto my bag, the reader had a broken display. It was a 7.8" display, I guess they are a bit more fragile to start with. Furtehermore the cover was a slim style cover. Prior to this I'd always had the sturdier kind of covers or a leather case made by Oberon or Noreve.
I continued to use those slim style covers for the last six years, because now my reader doesn't get much out and about time anymore. Which is why I bought one of the clear jelly back covers. The KLC has a full cover sitting in a drawer, too, to use when we have to go to the dentist or some such, but for home use, clear jelly back it is. I wanna see those pretty book covers ![]() |

I really like the standard origami Kobo case I got for my Clara Color. I often read over coffee or lunch before/during court days and I love having a case that just sits up nicely on the tables for me.

I want to see those pretty book covers too. That is why I am thinking of the clear back cover. I found one on Amazon that has a magsafe ring. I wonder if it will work with my iPhone charger. I am also thinking I could put a magnetic popsocket on it if needed. Decisions, decisions. LOL

I don't mind the origami cover. I got used to the lines. And I have used it as a stand (very infrequently). Last time I did was when I was on a plane and I stood it on the tray. So I will most likely look for another origami cover in case I ever want it stood up. |

I've always used a case too. I had a kindle fire 7" once I used for a while. I left it on top of the car early one morning going to starbucks to read before work. Got to starbucks,no reader? I read on my phone and drove back the same way looking for it. I found it near my neighborhood. Still worked a bit scraped up, but the screen was undamaged.
