Mistakenly changed ePUB file association
Somehow I mistakenly managed to change the program on my computer associated with opening ePUB files to Internet Explorer. So now every ePUB file I download to my desktop has the IE logo and wants to open with Internet Explorer.
Could someone please help and tell me how to change the file association back to what it was? Previously, Windows didn't know what program to use to open ePUB files and wanted me to pick a program. I must have picked IE. ![]() Thanks in advance for any help. |

Thanks for the quick response.
Before I stupidly associated ePUB files to open with Internet Explorer, there wasn't any Windows program that was associated with ePUBs. Is there any way to return ePUBs to an unassociated state? Thanks! |

I'm using Windows Vista. When I click the start button, there is a Search option with an arrow. Hovering over the arrow rolls out a menu that includes three options: For files or folders, Using Microsoft Outlook, and For People. Sorry, but I don't know what to choose.
I notice when I click the Start button there is also an option called Run. Could that be what I'm looking for? |

Peter, I've tried the command line but can't seem to get it to do anything. I guess I really don't know what I'm doing.
At any rate, I also tried changing the ePUB association to Calibre by right clicking an ePUB file. I get an option to browse for the program I want to open. Among the program choices is Calibre2, but I don't know if that's what I should choose or if I need to look for something else? Thanks! |

I thought this was a friendly site where no question was considered too dumb to ask. From your reaction, apparently I was mistaken. |
