Well, well, well. That I never knew.
I thought it was a separate plugin to be installed as I had never noticed it while browsing Calibre menus, but now that I scrolled through the Customise Toolbar preferences I see it listed there.
Thanks!!

You dont need to use Polish there is a dedicated embed metadata tool that works with many more ebook formats than polish.

Nice! I see that in the plugins list and in the Customise Toolbar list.

I haven't really been aware of either of these as they do not fit my workflow, so haven't needed them as a solution.

Hello BetterReds, theducks, DoctorOhh and Karellen

First of all many thanks for your support and guidance, this has the real feel of a community.

I have tried a lot of what was suggested, with mixed results.

Happy to report that I have found that I was just missing the 'save to disk' (in my case that's the simpler way) after editing the metadata in the MDE.

I just scrap the older epubs, and all is well!

So all good at this stage, and thanks again!

Save to disk is only for External Saves (devices not directly supported by Calibre. Includes sneaker (flash drive) net to another PC)

I have metadata updates turned off for Save-to-disk and using the editor. If I'm using the editor, I can update the metadata myself. Also, when I save-to-disk, I want the book as is.
