EPUB to KFX SetConsoleScreenBufferSize error
Hi all,
I'm trying to convert an EPUB to KFX, but every time I try and convert it, I get the following error: Code:
Launching Kindle Previewer 3 (unknown_36487680) - CLI WARNING: SetConsoleScreenBufferSize (120,30) to (200,100) failed 87 I'm unfortunately unable to upload the EPUB here as the file size is too large even when zipped, but I've attached the whole stacktrace in case that's useful. Thanks in advance! |

That warning is unexpected but it should not result in termination of the conversion process. I cannot explain why the conversion log ends there.
As an alternative since you can open the EPUB in the Kindle Previewer, you should be able to generate a KPF file by using the File-Export menu choice in the Previewer. That file can then be imported into calibre and converted to KFX. |

Correction to my previous post:
You will need to use the KFX Output plugin CLI to convert the KPF file produced by the Kindle Previewer into KFX format. See the Command Line Interface (CLI) section in the first post in the KFX Output plugin thread for details. |

So no 3rd party KFX yet? You have to install Amazon programs to convert to KFX on your own computer?

I certainly have no interest in working on such a thing. I have better things to do with my time than replicating software that is already available for free. |

OTOH unless you have a Scribe there is limited value to KFX. I agree about not implementing KFX; reading a book is better use of time than implementing KFX unless you are madly into the Scribe, Linux and don't want to connect to Amazon. I now only use my Kindles either for testing or #ID for D&T, so I personally have no interest in KFX. If an ordindary epub2 works in AZW3, the delivered KFX by Amazon to customers will "work". I was just curious because a couple of years ago before I lost interest in KFX, I went to install KFX plugin and found it needed Amazon programs. |
