Background color in Calibre 4 viewer
The new viewer does not respond to the bgcolor attribute in body, nor to the background-color property in CSS, with the value format required by Qt #RRGGBB.

Background colors for body and html are under control of the user, not the ebook creator. Look under the colors preference in the viewer preferences.

I'm sorry but this viewer is not for me. I will continue with the previous one, that the only thing it does is show what is specified. |

In the previous viewer, the user could easily specify a custom stylesheet to override the colors as well. The only new thing in this viewer is that they are overridden by default.

Oh and if you really want to ensure your background color is seen, simply wrap the contents of body in a div and set the background on that.

I use the print option every now and then in the calibre viewer for conversion, its more handy than the converter tool. In the newest calibre v4 the most used print option is missing, and i am really upset

Yeah I have nothing against bringing back print, its just not a priority since the way print works its basically doing a conversion under the hood anyway, so you dont really gain anything by printing from the viewer, except for perhaps a slightly simplified interface for conversion.
