did you (un)set all the desired options in Preferences:adding booksautoadd tab)?

Are any of the problem files read only (including INSIDE the archive)?

If the archive contains nothing but images, the archive will be added as CBZ or CBR, in which case the read only attribute of the files within the archive is irrelevant, to the Add process at least.

All the files inside the archive are epub. It only adds one file from the group but if I access the archive inside caibre I can manually add the missing files. I have options set to check for duplicates when auto-adding and none of the missing have been duplicates. I also have automatically convert files checked but all files inside the archive are epub which is my preferred output format. Thanks for the suggestions!

I believe Archives are not SPLIT. 1 book per archive used to be the rule.
I do believe, multiple formats of a single book in an archive will import

Thanks theducks! I thought since there is the option to manually import multiple in an archive that auto adding would do that. Darn!

Image archives aside, autoadd only expects to find book format files in the nominated folder, not subfolders. An archive of epubs placed in the autoadd folder is effectively a subfolder.

BetterRed the files are all in the root of the archive, no subfolders at all. Thanks for the suggestion.

But they have to be unpacked, that's best done to a fresh subfolder, otherwise one has the issue of what happens if a file already exists in the unpack location.

If you've automated the placement of the archives into the autoadd folder, then rather than copying/moving the archive into the autoadd folder, you could instead unpack it into the autoadd folder.

In Windows and OSX a zip is 'sort of handled' as a subfolder. There is/was (XP and earlier) an option that tapping 'Enter' on a zip in Windows (File) Explorer would drill into it as if it were a subfolder - not sure if its still there (I don't use Explorer much and I use WinRAR). I'm pretty sure there's an option in OSX that does similar - I recall a Mac Fan showing it to me in Finder as if it were boon for all mankind <yawn>.
