I like being able to look things up on the LCD side while reading on the eink side. The new Kindle has a better screen (Pearl e-ink), but I would still rather have the PE.
As Ivan points out, you can add reader apps to the LCD screen, including pdf readers (if you want color), and the Kindle app (if you want to read Kindle books without converting them to epub). My husband has an older Kindle and has never been tempted to join the eDGer ranks. Something about it being too heavy? Way worth it, I say! Happy deciding! Whichever way you go you will have an excellent reading experience! Oh, one more thing: The eDGe is more difficult to learn, and requires more patience (IMHO) than the Kindle. It's more than "just" a Reader, or "just" a Tablet. |
