Thank you already for information
I bought a Sony PRS300 last night -- after literally months of agonizing about which way I'd jump to put a bookcase in my purse.
Set up was easy thanks to some great posts in this forum covering the things that the Sony manual does NOT tell you. Like that weird "don't disconnect USB screen." I'm sure I'll be back with questions, but right now I'm enjoying reading my checked-out books from the Seattle Public Library thanks to your wonderful information!! |

Hi Rosemary and welcome to MobileRead. I've had a Sony 505 for over two years and really like it.

Welcome from north of the border Rosemary. I think I can see your place from here. Just kidding...I have a good view of Mount Baker though, on a rare clear day. I worked in Seattle for a year, about 10 years ago, and lived on seventh hill. A lot of great restaurants is what I remember most.
I'm glad everything is going smoothly with your PRS-300, but if you have any questions just ask. Lots of public domain eBooks are available here at MobileRead. |

Good to have your company, Rosemary. When you feel more comfortable with your Sony, I reckon you'll soon have more room the spare in your house. There's nothing quite like a 'matchbox library'. Good luck. Neil

Neil, as the co-author of the Encyclopedia of Collectible Children's Books, most of my bookcases are stuffed with books that don't translate well into the digital format. Such as my Edwardian fairy tale books.
But that's only the 2,000 or so books that live with me permanently. I'm a huge reader as well of contemporary fiction, not-so-contemporary fiction, nonfiction, and so on. It's great to have something small enough to stuff a purse. Now I just need to find someone who makes cool covers for the 300, something steampunk would be nice. |

Good choice I keep planning on making (or buying) a steampunk cover my 505. In the meantime it has the default Sony cover and travels inside a padded envelope (one of the horrible ones filled with fibre rather than bubble wrap)
