Any members of World Public Library?
Is anyone a paying member of the World Public Library (http://worldlibrary.net/)?
Is it worthwhile? Good books? |

I am so tempted to call these people and tell them that what they are doing just is so wrong. All they offer is PDF and a lot of the books they offer are free anyway. Like the BAEN books they have in PDF. They don't get what an eBook really is. No way I'd tell anyone this site is a good idea to support.

You can learn about a few more e-book libraries here. (In the comments someone points to a free one that I didn't happen to review yet.)
These libraries do encrypted Mobipocket format books (which still leaves folks out who don't have Mobi-supported devices and are unwilling to break the DRM, of course). |

I just came across the site recently and found it to be of huge help. The PDFs work well on both my kindle and ipad which is really convenient and its super affordable. I actually really like the pdf because once its downloaded its always there, you don't have to be connected to an internet (like when on an airplane). Depending on what type of book you are looking for, the site is really of great educational use. And I found that it is related to a self publishing site so there is a lot of unique books on there that are not found everywhere else. World Public Library also has audiobooks too. I would recommend it for sure. Great site overall.

Hunter, you don't have to be connected to internet to read any other sort of book either, once it is downloaded to your device. Even kindle cloud reader lets you pin the books so you can read offline. Most people on ereaders as opposed to tablets find pdf an awkward format, needing a lot of zooming and scrolling.
Just out ofinterest, how much does membership cost? |

Is there any way to browse subjects? I'd like to see the books they offer but I'm finding navigation a bit difficult.

Why should we pay to borrow PDF? They should pay us to borrow PDF.
