Annoying Epub markup

Currently reading a series of murders ("A Birder Murder Mystery") borrowed from the library and fulfilled by Kobo on my Libra

The first book had a psuedo drop cap on the first word in each chapter, and the way it's been coded and the way the Kobo access renderer works results in at certain font sizes a large blank space, or a series of short horizontal lines.

Books 2 and 3 have the same drop cap issue, however they've also hard coded right alignment on that first paragraph, while leaving no alignment coded on other paragraphs. Leaves a rather bizarre looking screen.

As weird as some of the formatting is with Project Gutenberg books, it doesn't compare with how weird some library books are. I've resorted to using the DeDRM plugin on them and fixing their formatting.

You could try the omnibus of the first four books. Each one with it's own CSS. Consistency? Who needs consistency?
