Amazon Kindle - really ugly name
The Amazon Kindle is really poorly named. It just sounds not nice.

Is that the name for sure? When did Amazon reveal it?

There is a NYTimes article about the Kindle (ghastly name).

They really could have come up with a better name. But since most people know it by that name, I bet that's going to be the name.

Actually I like the name; kindle a fire and let e-books take off
Anyway more imaginative than Sony Reader or Nokia 770 or Ebookwise or Cybook; Though gotta hand it, Iliad is still the best name as of now |

I kind of like "kindle" as well, it's an old word that most folks have lost awareness of, so it's neat that way. But, yeah, iLiad is the current best one, with Cybook being runner up in my opinion.

I like Kindle also, and hope they keep it. Makes me think of kindling the e-book fire as others have mentioned. Besides, it's what I'm used to now!

I like Kindle for the idea of ebooks setting fire through paper book mentality. Its got a German ring to it like 'kinder', young ones, the newness of ebooks.

I rather like the idea that books "kindle" the fires of the imagination, but I'm a confessed Romantic.
