PDF size limit

There seems to be a limit in PDF size.
I have creted a PDf file which is over 11Mb, 2600 pages.
The SONY Reader only displays the first 1000 pages, starting with 1001 it displays an empty page.
Have any of you guys run into this limit? Are these limits known?

thanks

It has, indeed, come up before, sic -- back in the early days of the Sony Reader.

I don't recall a resolution ever coming out of it, but I think that it contributed to the move toward using the LRF format for a lot of us.

Create an LRF with embedded fonts instead. See the html2lrf thread for an example.

thanks, I tried html2lrf

it didnt work for me because I'm dealing with hebrew fonts and those weren't handled properly.
briefly: two characters should be put on top of each other, one the letter, second the punctuation.
they work fine in Word->OpenOffice->PDF.
(I have no clue why...)

You need to embed a font that supports hebrew characters. Do either of those fonts support hebrew?

None of the fonts that come with Windows supports Hebrew.

One of them must be or he wouldn't be able to see the hebrew characters in office.

It could be a font that didnt' come with windows, but has been added to the system after the fact.

I have no personal idea if any of the standard fonts that ship with windows will handle Hebrew characters or not, but as you note, clearly there must be some somewhere that do, whether they come with windows or not.

There's different versions of the "basic" fonts (like Times or Arial). Since version 2.76, for example, Arial supports Hebrew characters (as stated here http://www.slovo.info/unifonts.htm). So you can download the right version of the fonts (on the corefonts project there, for example http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...ease_id=105355), and install them on your machine.

Maybe just print pages 1-1000 and then 1000-1999 and 1999-2600. Sounds like that might work.

Perhaps you could try creating an LRF document rather than a PDF. Embedding fonts works fine in LRFs (see the sample book in Ancient Greek that I've recently posted to illustrate this).
