Question Converting Epub to KFX Error
Running Calibre on Mac OS 10.13.6

Everything was fine until today. I didn't update or anything. Yes, Previewer 3 is installed.

calibre, version 3.48.0
ERROR: KFX conversion failed: <p><b>Cannot convert Beyond the Chains of Illusion</b><br><br><b>Conversion error:</b> Kindle Previewer 3 not installed as expected. (/Applications/Kindle Previewer 3.app/Contents/MacOS/lib/fc missing)</p>

Can someone help?

Does Kindle Previewer 3 run when you launch it?

If you look in your "Applications" folder with Finder do you see "Kindle Previewer 3"?

If it is not there can you locate it elsewhere?

Thanks for your reply! Yes, yes and yes. I just ran Previewer 3 again. It's in the Application folder shoulder to shoulder to all my Kindle apps.

Make sure that you have the most recent version (1.41.1) of the KFX Output plugin installed. The error you are receiving could occur with an outdated version of the plugin.

If you do have the latest version then post the full conversion log. It may show more information.

Brilliant, it worked! There is a new issue: how do I send this kfx file to open in my Kindle app on my iphone?

On a PC you can use iTunes to transfer the file to the Kindle app. I don’t know if you can do that on a Mac.
